immense, impressive, and nice touch the b/w conversion, I still would have loved to see it au naturel
Tracy: Thanks Patrick glad you liked the shot
Are they really concrete, as you suggested earlier, Tracy? I know the Romans are credited with inventing concrete, but these columns look like carved blocks of sandstone to me.
This is a fine picture...love the perspective, which fills the frame with colossal structures...like the legs of elephants when they crowd together to protect their young.
Tracy: That's what all the info say's...
They do look like elephants legs Ray LOL. So glad they did not stampede Thanks
Great capture
Tracy: Cheers Vintage thanks for the comment
Love the way the pillars DOMINATE the entire photograph and the B&W emphasizes the starkness of them.
Tracy: Thank you very much Kathryn for the comment. Hope you are on the mend
I'm not sure I like the conversion. Maye we can get to see the original shot?
Tracy: Thanks Etomi I will see what I can do, when I find the time. Am away this weekend
Powerful indeed, love this composition, the Romans really knew their way with bombastic pillars, to show...'who is the best'...well no doubt about that.
You did a great job, great B&W...color would distract from the scene.
Tracy: They certainly are powerful pillars they have to hold a great deal of weight between them all. The romans were very clever people
Thank you for your kind words Musketeer
Powerful indeed Tracy. I like the perspective. Well done.
Tracy: Thanks Richard
Good b&w picture Tracy. Yep I really like this, no colour required for me
Tracy: Thanks Bill I like it in B&W too. Have a good weekend
Strong picture and excellent conversion.
Tracy: Thanks for your kind words Louis
I like all the differing textures - brought out well by the b/w. Also like the way you have filled the frame - as Ray says, they remind me of elephants' legs!
Ingrid
Tracy: LOL Ingrid just glad they did not tread on me
I also love the textures, very impressive structure Have a great weekend
Ah now this one I like Tracy - good use of the low viewpoint to emphasise the solidity of the columns. B&W is a great leveller of an image and in this one it works a treat as the subject becomes the fluted column framed by pillars. Conveys mood as well as visual information. excellent.
Tracy: Thanks very much Mike I love your point of view of this shot. It is one of my favorites.
Enjoy your weekend
Nice choice for B&W!
Tracy: Cheers Martie appreciate your views
I look at this, and all the detail, and you say, strength and power, and ask myself how many of today's buildings will look this good in even a couple of hundred years, let alone this old. Thanks for making me think, Tracy. Well done.
Tracy: Your very welcome Sheila. Thanks for airing you views and adding a valued comment
Tracy I love the fact that you converted this into b&w. It's so imposing!

Tracy: Thank you so much for the comment and for dropping by
Nice perspective on this. I like how abstract the photo is when you don't look at the bottom of the columns.
Tracy: Thanks a million Jewlya
Like the mono treatment Tracy, it enhances these columns.
