Are they lighted at night?
Tracy: Yes they are Maria, but my night shots need a great deal of work!!!!
Thanks Tracy.
Great angle of view, again, Tracy. This is impressive.
Tracy: Thanks a million Kay for your kind comment
Impressive Tracy. They seem to be wired up and I was wondering too if they were illuminated at night?
Tracy: They are Bill but as I am not over confident with night photography I only took a few and they were not that good. I will have to go get some advice
Thanks for the comment as usual
Very good capture
Tracy: Thanks you so much Vintage
This are perfect statues, the apostles are symbols of the catholics.
Tracy: Yes Jeroen they are
An unusual viewpoint, taking them from the back. What a strange assortment of wiring - the one on the right looks like his arm is in a brace!
Ingrid
Tracy: I think they are braced as the statues are old and in need of repair. As for the wires they are lite at night.
Thanks Ingrid
Great shot.
The way they are wired up leads me to believe you have actually stumbled upon a group of actors preparing for another performance of jesus christ superstar!
Tracy: LOL Ray they were wired for sound!!!
Thanks for your ever jovial comment
This shot lets you see the damage that has happened over time but also some attempts to rectify it. I know how hard it is to wear a brace... LOL
Tracy: You can joke about it now Mary that is good.LOL
Thanks for your comment
Great Tracy Great. i was here but i couldnīt find this excellent picture. Congrats.
Tracy: Glad to have shown it to you then Ale.
Thanks for your comment
Love this view Tracy.
Tracy: Cheers Aussie
Over and above the slight angle you gave the picture, they seem to be leaning forward over the parapet. I see the blocks they are standing on are slanted - so that is it - maybe. Good thing to put them into braces then.
Were you also hanging on? Great picture
Tracy: It was all fenced off Louis so had to put my camera right up to it to get a shot with out the messing on.
They were looking down on very one in the square at the front of St Peters. I was hanging on LOL. Thanks Louis
LOL Tracy, all those comments, BUT this is a great POV, now we can have a look back-stage, now we know it is hanging together with wire, we say...I even spotted Mary with the sling....I hope you don't mind that I see the fun in this great picture, the colors are great...
I would have love to see this at night though....blinking.... they unstrapped you, I hope...still brave...
Tracy: You know I don't mind your sense of humour Musketeer
Hanging on by a thread(but for how long)?? Restoration has already begun. My night shots are c#@p need some good tuition Thanks Musketeer
Great set of statues, Tracy.
Tracy: Cheers Chad
They look like they're about to jump Tracy!!!
Tracy: LOL they do don't they
There's one thing for sure I wasn't about too
Very impressive shot Tracy. I like the angle and the colours contrast ceating a strong atmosphere!
Tracy: Thanks for your kind words Richard
Good shot Tracy, I note from your archive it is one of series so I will browse back through when time allows.
Tracy: Awww Thanks Brian.
I appreciate the point of view and the faces in profile. Good capture of the textures, as well.
Tracy: Cheers Red Pen, they were starting restoration work on the statues from the look of things.
They have the sort of wiring and bracing I sometimes feel I need to shore up my aching limbs. I've done a bit of manual work after too many years in a desk job and my body is screaming at me.
Don't be too shy about trying night shots, Tracy. A tripod and cable release should do the trick. After that, as it's digital, you can try several settings in a very short time. A narrow aperture (f/16-ish), a low ISO (100 max - 50 if you have it) and a not too windy night should do it. Curiously, most night photographers advise not waiting for night but photographing just after the sun has gone down and before the sky loses all its colour. You will note, however, that I have no decent night shots to talk of so (a) I should go and do some or (b) I should shut up. Shutting up now1
Tracy: Colin thanks for your lesson so to speak, when I find the time I will give it a go. I just need to buy a cable release and then I am ready to have a go
I really need a light tripod to as the one I have is quiet heavy to lug around I will shut up now!!!! Thanks for your advise and comment, much appreciated
Hi Tracy. what a wonderful shot.. i would love t see them when they are illuminated they must be exceptionally impressive. Lovely. :o) John.
Tracy: Thanks for dropping by John and for your comment.
They did looks beautiful when lite at night.
Looks like they are leaning into the storm that is brewing on the horizon. Good idea!
Tracy: Thanks Martin and welcome back
a very impressive view Tracy, but after just watching the news and listening to how much abuse of kids the church covered up, kind of makes me cringe. but a great shot never the less
Tracy: I totally agree Tim with your comment on child abuse.
As you say the the view was impressive though Thanks
That's a really powerful study Tracy: very nice photograph
Tracy: Thank you so much Chris for your comment. Appreciate it
The metal attached to the statues is a little creepy looking. Interesting find.
