This caught my eye as the weather had been so wet and dreary. The clouds parted as I walked past Sant'Agnese in Agone, Piazza Navona. A basilica church in Rome. Construction started in 1652 under the planning of Carlo Rainaldi on the site where Saint Agnes was martyred in the Circus of Domitian.
It must have been a sign of what was to come, but sadly we had to leave before I could find out:) LOL

This is composed so nicely, with that parting of the clouds framing the spire. Well done.
Tracy: Thank you very much Red Pen for your kind comment
Certainly looks hopeful! Is the halo around the steeple a sign that this is an especially holy church?
Tracy: LOL it must have been Martin
Yap, this is exactly what Martin and Red Pen said, and more much much more. The clouds are amazing.

At least you found out there IS light in Rome, ever so often! So glad you saw it, Tracy, not that the rain stopped you otherwise! Good find before you left!

I really need to plan another trip but not sure where to. Thanks mijn vriend.

Excellent composition Tracy - you couldn't have wished for a more natural frame for the spire. Very dramatic.
